Wealth is a choice: What do most people think about wealth, and its meaning? What was our parent’s definition of wealth, is that where you got your definition? The road to wealth is, as Dr. Franklin truly says, “as plain as the road to the mill.” It consists simply in expending less than we earn; that seems to be a very simple problem. It’s hard to believe but this is what most of our parents were taught.
Do you really think this advice will work today?
One of the other most common things our parents were taught is to “Avoid Debt like the Plague.” Sometimes it’s hard to believe we are taught things like this. Today by the time our kids get into college they have a credit card already, and most of them have no idea of how to be good stewards. Look at the bankruptcy rates in this country; and tell me how we have been taught to handle money. Are we taught that there is good debt and bad debt, and how to have money work for us?
Yes wealth is a choice; and each one of us has to make it. The difference is there are many roads to it, which one do you want to take. There are financial planners out there that will invest your money in investments they sell for 30 years to have a couple million dollars in retirement, that is one way to wealth. There are many courses on how to develop wealth through real estate; and I will cover that in a future time. You have people doing day trading in the stock market, and most of the 401(k)s and all retirement plans that are in this country have that money in the stock market; and that is why so many people lost when Enron crashed.
I know people that have become wealthy in all these areas; and this is not to put any of those areas down. I like what I’ve heard or read about “we work hard for 20 years of our lives to save for retirement. Then we give control of that money to a college student that just got a job on Wall Street to invest that money for us. I heard great stories of how some of have made people millionaires and others that have lost everything for the people. I always question when a trader moves someone’s money when they are in a financial crunch; because every time they move your money they make a percentage.
Wealth is a choice; and I made it. I have studied real estate in many forms. I started traditional business to generate cash flow to invest in real estate. I see that the Internet now has more potential for me than a traditional business. I will buy some 300 unit apartment complexes in the future; but for now I am developing an Internet marketing business. I have seen more people become wealthy from the Internet than any other place. Donald Trump is really no different than any of us, but as he grew up he watched his father build an empire in real estate as a contractor. It is said that Donald’s father’s father died at a very early age, Donald’s father was 16 when he started building houses under his mother’s name. Donald’s father did what he had to do to pay the bills and make a living, but the one thing he did was kept on learning how to keep his money working; and making more money. Then his son learned all this as he was growing up; and everyone looks at Donald Trump as this great millionaire. Now look at his children; and what are they learning? I don’t see them getting a free ride he is making them work, and learn just like his dad made him do. That’s why I believe wealth is a choice; and you must make it for yourself; because you are the only one that has the passion and drive to change your life.
